Grant Monahan

Grant M. Monahan

President

Grant M. Monahan is President of the Indiana Retail Council and has served on the staff of the Council since 1979. He was selected to head the organization by the Board of Directors in 1982.

 

Grant’s principle duties are to manage the association and act as the Council’s primary lobbyist in the Statehouse. The Council is actively engaged in articulating the concerns of its membership to lawmakers and advancing the association’s legislative agenda.

 

Prior to joining the Council, Grant was on the staff of the Indiana House of Representatives for four years.

A native of Westmont, New Jersey, Grant is a graduate of Albright College majoring in political science, is married to Julie and they have two children.


Nicole Upano

Nicole Upano

Director of Office Operations

Nicole Upano recently joined the Indiana Retail Council in April of 2008. Her duties include managing the Council’s finances, and she works as part of its Government Affairs team.

 

Before she began working for the Council, Nicole served as the Legislative Assistant for the SDS Group for two years.

 

Nicole calls Indiana home, growing up on the Southside of Indianapolis. She attended Cathedral High School and graduated in 2003. She continued her education at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN with a double major in Political Science and Studio Art with a minor in Art History. Currently, Nicole attends Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis in the evening program.
